Integro’s applications are developed on a common platform, the Open Finance Architecture or OFA. OFA is a J2EE (Java 2 Enterprise Edition – Read more about J2EE) and XML (Extended Mark-up Language) component-based n-tier financial web application platform. In other words, the application is segregated into several tiers for ease of maintenance and training, and also to lower investment costs.
The Presentation tier provides for the customer touch points, for instance – phone banking (Interactive Voice Response or IVR), Internet, Intranet, WAP banking, etc. The Business Logic layer provides for product functionalities. Finally, the Integration tier utilizes either Attachmate Smart Connector or middleware in order to connect to the bank’s legacy systems.
The segregation of the layers ensures a robust, highly available, scalable, reliable, manageable and secure platform. Furthermore, as all products are built on a common platform, cost and timeframe for implementation is substantially reduced. Maintenance is also simplified, which is another plus for the customer in terms of cost saving.
